Using an AI model to rewrite a paragraph normally costs you the context switch: copy the text, find the browser tab, paste, prompt, copy the result, come back. Camus removes the round trip. Select text in whatever app you are already in, press a shortcut, pick a style, and the text is replaced in place.

It works system-wide — Gmail, Slack, Notion, Discord, LinkedIn, X, iMessage and others — because it operates on the selection rather than integrating with each app. Six presets ship with their own shortcuts (Improve, Shorten, Summarize, Reply, Friendly, For LinkedIn), and you can define your own with custom prompts, icons and keys.

Rewrites can run against a local model (Gemma 3n) entirely on-device, which means drafts never leave the machine, or against the cloud when you want more capability. History keeps the original draft alongside each rewrite, filterable by app or preset, so an over-eager edit is always recoverable.

  • System-wide: works in Gmail, Slack, Notion, Discord, LinkedIn, X, iMessage and more
  • Six preset rewrites, each with its own shortcut
  • Custom actions with your own prompts, icons, colours and keybindings
  • On-device processing via a local Gemma 3n model, or cloud when preferred
  • Full rewrite history with the original draft preserved
  • Requires macOS 26+
